Nightmares

     'There she was, her (e/c) eyes staring at me with fear at I crept closer to her, growling. In my mind I wanted to stop, but my body told me to kill. Every step I took towards her, she crawled backwards in attempts to get away from me.
     "N-Nick. I-it's me, (y/n). P-please remember, w-we're f-friends..." she kept pleading.
    But it was no use, I couldn't stop myself. No matter how much I wanted to or how hard I tried to stop, I just couldn't. (Y/n) then tried to run away from me but I ended up pouncing on top of her. She couldn't escape now. She looked up at me with teary eyes.
     "N-Nick......p-please......"
 I could only growl in response before slowly opening my mouth to take a quick, deadly bite to her neck....'

     "No! (Y/n)!" I quickly sit up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I take a few deep breaths and look around to find myself in my crusty apartment all alone. I sigh deeply and reach over to turn off my alarm clock. I then turn to sit on the edge of my bed and began to rub my temples slightly.
      "Damn.....another nightmare....." These nightmares have been happening more frequently, but they've always been the same. I had gone.....well "savage" and I would've tried to attack either Judy or (y/n). But lately, they've mainly been about me attacking (y/n), but I couldn't figure out why. I've know (y/n) for as long as I've known Judy, so the nightmares should be about them both right? Hell, I shouldn't even be having nightmares in the first place. What the fuck is going on with me? I look back at my alarm clock and sigh again.
       "Time to go to work......."

Your P.O.V
      You were currently walking out of a local coffee shop carrying several cups of coffee along with 3 small bags. You had gotten breakfast for your small team down at the Z.P.D. You were slowly walking down the street towards the station when you heard a familiar, yet cheerful voice call out to you.
      "(Y/n)! Over here!" You turn towards the road and saw Judy driving up to the street you were currently walking on. You sigh with relief and quickly climb into the passenger's  seat next to her.
      "It was a good thing you showed up when you did Judy. If you hadn't, I probably would've dropped everything before I got to the station." you said as you handed Judy her coffee and one of the small bags.
      "Sorry by the way, when I asked you to pick up breakfast, I didn't think you had to carry so much." Judy replied while taking a carrot muffin out of the bag you gave her. You just shrugged and took a sip from you coffee cup.
       "It wasn't that much at first. I was just getting the  usual for you, me, and Nick." you say before taking a bite of your muffin. Judy glanced over at the 3 other coffee cups in your lap along with another small bag.
       "Is that all for Nick?"
       "Yeah, he texted me this morning and asked for 3 cups of coffee with double espresso and a blueberry muffin." you said while adjusting the cups in your lap slightly so that nothing spilled.
        "That's a little out of character for Nick. He usually only needs one cup before he's fully awake." Judy said as you both stopped at a red light. You nodded your head in agreement.
        "Yeah. Very out of character......." Come to think of it, you noticed some more things that were completely out of character for Nick lately. He was making less and less sassy comments on stuff everyday, he always seemed out of focused, and he started using your real names a lot more lately instead of your normal nicknames he called you and Judy, "Carrots" and "Ms. Hops-a-lot". You also noticed that whenever you 3 were alone, Nick looked almost nervous about being alone with you and Judy. This worried you a bit, you just hoped that Nick was feeling ok.
        A few minutes later, you and Judy pulled up to the Z.P.D just in time to see Nick walking by in his usual sunglasses and uniform.
        "Yo Nick!" you say while getting out of the car with his coffee and muffin. Nick turned towards you two and made his signature smirk before walking over towards you.
        "Well if it isn't my favorite bunnies in all of Zootopia. Carrots and Ms. Hops-a-lot." he says while he gently pets your and Judy's head. You just end up shooing his paw away.
         "We're the only bunnies in Zootopia you know. And don't pet my head. You know I don't like that."
         "Aww why not? Your fur is so soft" he says while making another attempt to pet your head but you end up catching his paw before he did so.
         "I still don't like you doing that. Now take your stuff before I drop it." Nick just smirks some more before taking his breakfast from you.
         "Awww. You guys make a cute couple." Judy says before heading into the Z.P.D. You and Nick end up blushing before following her in.
~~~~le time skip~~~~
    It's the end of the day and you were all walking out of the station. It was a pretty slow day so there wasn't really much to do. You were excited because neither you, Judy, or Nick had to go into work tomorrow because you all had the day off and you wanted to do something special, just the 3 of you. So you came up with the idea of movie night.
       "Movie night?" Judy asked before you all get into her car.
       "Yeah! Since we're all off tomorrow we can stay up late watching movies and in the morning go out for brunch. What do you think?"
       "I'm sorry (y/n) I can't. I promised I'd visit my parents tomorrow. But you and Nick can have a movie night." Judy says while pulling up to the street near your apartment building.
        "Ok. What do you think Nick?" You turn towards him but he wasn't paying attention to you, he was looking out he window in thought. "Nick? Hello?" You reach over and shove him gently, causing him to look back at you.
         "What?"
         "What do you think?"
         "About what?"
         "Movie night, Judy can't come so it'll be just you and me. Is that ok with you?"
     Nick looked a little taken back by what you said but he just nodded his head. "Yeah sure. That'll do"
You smile and you start to get out of the car.
        "Great! I'll come by your place in a few hours with some movies. See you later!" You close the car door and head into your apartment building.

Nick's P.O.V
     I watched her head into the apartment building before sighing slightly.
       "What's wrong Nick? Why are you upset?"
I look over at Judy who was giving me a concerned look.
       "Nothing's wrong. I'm fine."
       "No you're not, your ears are droopy"
I look over in the mirror and saw my ears were kinda droopy. I just shrug and look out the window.
       "I'm fine Judy. Nothing's wrong...."
       "I know somethings up Nick, you've been acting different lately."
I look back at Judy surprised, was I really acting differently?
       "Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. I've noticed, so has (y/n). And we're both a little worried....."
   I sigh slightly and rub my eyes a little bit. The last thing I wanted to do was make them worried about me, especially (y/n).
      "I just haven't been feeling well lately. But I'm fine. Nothing to worry about....." Judy just gives me a hard look before sighing and turning her attention back to the road, knowing she wouldn't be able to get much outta me.
      "Ok Nick. But if something does come up, just please tell someone what's going on. At least just tell me or (y/n) what's going on. Ok?" Judy says while pulling over to the street near my apartment build.
       "Ok Judy. I will" I say while getting my seat belt off and opening the door to get out. "You'll be one of the first people I'll tell." I say before shutting the door and watching Judy drive away. I then sigh and head into my apartment building.

3rd person P.O.V
    A few hours later you head over to Nick's apartment to get started with movie night. You had brought over some of your favorite movies which were basically (f/m/g) movies. You had also brought some of the movies that Nick liked, which were mainly horror movies.
    When you got to Nick's apartment, you two got everything ready for movie night. You guys made popcorn and got a bunch of other goodies to eat (cookies, pizza, candy, etc.). You guys started out with watching one of your favorite movies.                Throughout the whole night you two took turns of what movie you would watch. It was almost midnight when you had started to grow tired. You two were about to finish your most recent movie when you had fallen asleep on Nick.

Nick's P.O.V
    The movie had just ended when I started to yawn and rub my eyes tiredly. I look at the clock to see it was a little past midnight.
     "Ok (y/n), do you wanna watch another movie or just call it night?" I didn't hear a response so I look down at (y/n) to see her sleeping peacefully on my shoulder. I chuckle softly and end up turning the tv off. I then pick (y/n) up and carry her over to the couch. I then pick up a nearby blanket and pull it over her. She sighed slightly and curled up under the blanket cutely. I then gently pet her soft, (h/c) fur and smile a bit.
      I don't know what came over me, but I ended up bending down and I kissed the top of her head. She shifted slightly when I did and I stepped back a little. I then sigh and start to scratch the back of my head.
     'What is going on with me lately? Why did I just kiss (y/n)?' I think as I looked back at (y/n) and smile, seeing how peaceful she looked. I then began to yawn again and I ended up walking into my room to get some sleep too. I climbed into bed and laid down under the covers. I started to think about (y/n) again and began to fall asleep.

Your P.O.V
       You began to wake up because you thought you heard a weird noise from somewhere in Nick's apartment. You sit up a little and tiredly look around the apartment and failed to see anything wrong with it. You then looked at the clock and saw it read 3 am. Groaning, you end up lying back down to try to return to your peaceful sleep. You then hear the weird noise again, but this time it sounded like someone had said "no". Fully awake now, you sit completely up and look around the apartment once again, but failed to see anything wrong again. But instead of trying to go to sleep, you wait for the noise.
      After a few minutes, you heard it once again. You looked towards where you heard it and saw you were looking at Nick's bedroom door. You get up from the couch and slowly walk over to the door. Pushing the door open, you peaked into Nick's room. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary except for Nick tossing and turning in his bed. You took a small step into his room when you heard Nick talk in his sleep. He sounded nervous, even a little scared.
      'Could this be why Nick has been acting different lately?' you think to yourself as you carefully walk over next to his bed. You looked down at Nick helplessly as he tossed and turned and talked in his sleep.
       "N-no......(y/n)........."
       "Nick? Are you ok?" you whisper quietly, almost hoping he was at least a little bit awake.
       "P-please.......s-stay back......." you shake slightly as Nick kept talking.
        "N-Nick? Are you-"
        "I-I don't wanna hurt you......." you back away slightly when Nick says this. You then shake your head and decide this was enough, you had to wake him up. You get right next to Nick and begin to shake him slightly.
         "Nick? Come on, wake up."
         "N-no.....(y/n).....no....." you began to shake him a little harder now.
         "Nick its not real. It's just a dream. Wake up"
        "N-no......no! (Y/n)!" Nick bolts up from bed which causes you to back up in surprise. He takes a few breaths before looking over at you.
        "(Y/n)?"
        "Nick, are you ok? What happened?" you say with concern while climbing onto the bed so you could sit next to Nick. He doesn't respond to you, he ends up looking down at his paws. You sigh and you take one of his paws and hold it in your's, which causes Nick to look back at you.
          "Please tell me what you were dreaming about. I want to help you Nick. Please......" Nick looks down again and sighs. You wait for Nick to respond but instead of him talking, he started to shake and you could've sworn you heard him crying.
         "N-Nick?" He then catches you off guard and pulls you into a tight hug and begins to cry into your shoulder. You stay completely still in shock. Never on any occasion would Nick ever hug you. You've never even seen him cry before and yet he was doing just that now. Whatever was bothering him, whatever he was dreaming about must've been really serious if he was like this. You then wrap your arms around him and gently rub his back to help calm him down.
         "It's ok Nick. It was just a dream. It didn't really happen"
         "Y-you were dead.......I-I killed you......." You backed up a bit to look Nick in the eye.
         "Nick. What did you dream about? Tell me, please. I want to help." You say before gently petting the side of his head. Nick leaned into your touch and sighed before telling you what happened in his dream.
         "We were out in the field together, alone. Everything was quiet until I started to feel different. I tried to leave you but you wouldn't let me leave. I then started changing, I was turning.......savage. I then tried to attack you but you kept running away from me. Soon I had pinned you down and you couldn't move. I ended up killing you........" When Nick was done he was still shaking and you could see some more tears forming in his eyes.
          "Nick.......when did you start having these nightmares?"
          "A little after we put Bellwether away......" you look at him in surprise.
          "You've been having nightmares for almost 2 years?!"
          "It wasn't that bad at first......first they were only once in a while. Then I started having them once a month. Then once a week, then once a day. Now it's to the point where I can't even close my eyes without seeing you scared of me or dead....."
       You give Nick a sad look before putting a paw on his shoulder. "Why didn't you tell anyone? Why didn't you at least tell me?" Nick just shrugged his shoulders.
        "I don't know. I thought I'd be fine, and I didn't want you to worry. The last thing I would want is for you to worry about me." You only frown in response and make Nick turn to face you.
       "You should've told someone, or at least me. You're not alone to figure stuff out like this anymore. You have animals that care about you now, mainly me and Judy. And we'll help you with anything you're going through. Just tell us and we'll help you, that's what we're here for." Nick ends up looking downwards but you make him look back up at you.
        "And you don't have to worry about me. I will always be here for you. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon and you can't get rid of me. You're stuck with me like stink on a warthog." Nick chuckles at your final comment before giving you a small smile.  
         "Thanks (y/n), for everything....." Nick then pets your head and you end up leaning into his touch, making him chuckle.
          "I thought you said you didn't like me petting you like this."
          "I don't like it.....I absolutely love it......" you whisper the last part, hoping Nick wouldn't hear you. Nick then brings his paw to you cheek and caresses it gently. He then leans in so close that you two were only inches apart, causing you to blush.
          "I heard that last part......" he whispers before leaning down to plant a kiss on your lips. Your eyes go wide and to stay perfectly still, trying to understand what was happening. You end up relaxing and closing your eyes, you kiss him back while placing your paws on his shoulders. You were pleasantly surprised with how gentle the kiss was. You would think that Nick would be a little more rough when it came to kissing.
    Soon you both pull away from each other. Nick smiles and kisses your cheek tenderly, causing you to smile.
      "I love you (y/n)......"
      "I love you too Nick....." You begin to yawn and snuggle up close to Nick. He chuckles and helps you lay down with him on the bed. Once you both were situated he pulled the covers up over you both before pulling you close to him.
       "G'night Ms. Hops-a-lot......" he says while nuzzling the top of your head.
       "Night Nick....." you whisper before falling asleep with Nick falling asleep shortly after you. Now for the first time in 2 years, Nick was finally having peaceful dreams. And everyone of them was about you.
